Olive Pearson is a designer with her current focus on constructed knitted textiles since graduating as a mature student from the Glasgow School of Art. A childhood introduction to spirograph and her first career as a cartographic editor/designer were instrumental in developing her practice - driven by the design process and the exploration of pattern, colour and texture. Both geometry and repetition feature prominently in her work which plays with perception of 2D and 3D forms. Her practice is split between her art and her award-winning international accessories brand, combining traditional craft techniques with contemporary design. Olive champions a handmade, slow fashion, zero-waste and sustainability ethos. Collaborations and commissions include Outlander, the British Golf Museum, and most recently the National Library of Scotland.
