Netty is a Kiltmaker, Garment Designer and Head of Fashion at Lewes Castle College (UHI) in Stornoway. She established her own business ‘Diggory Brown’ in the village of Ness on the Isle of Lewis in 2008 designing and producing kilts for clients within the fashion, music and television industry (Christopher Kane, BBC and KT Tunstall).
She has taken part in international collaborations with makers in Iceland, Indigenous ‘Sami’ from Northern Scandinavia, and Innuit from Nunavut, Canada.
Netty is also on the board of Applied Arts Scotland and through this is currently developing training projects for Artisans in India, Afghanistan and Scotland.
